ABOUT US

Some stories begin long before you are born. My grandmother was a weaver. In Türkiye, she spent her days crafting rugs and kilims by hand. Each thread placed with intention, each pattern carrying the memory of generations before her. I grew up watching her hands move with quiet mastery, never imagining that one day, I would carry that same tradition across an ocean. In 2019, I left Türkiye, the country where I was born and raised, and came to America on a work visa. I came to learn the language, to explore, to grow. What I didn’t expect was that I would find a second home here, build a family, and one day share a piece of my culture with the world. Today, I am a mother, an immigrant, and a woman building her own American Dream. One handwoven towel at a time. They create, we bring to America. A partnership built on trust, shared values, and a mutual love for the craft. We work together year-round and, during off-season, we are in production, refining designs and sourcing the finest 100% organic Turkish cotton. This partnership means something beyond business. By choosing Luma, you are supporting artisan families in Türkiye and a small women-owned business in Denver, Colorado. Two communities, on two different continents, growing together. That makes us incredibly proud. Every piece you bring into your home carries the hands of artisans who care deeply about what they make, just as my grandmother once did. As a women-owned small business in Denver, Colorado, Luma is more than a brand. It is a bridge between two cultures, two families, and two worlds, woven together with intention. From our family to yours. Welcome to Luma. May Jeffers
